Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 October 2026
These terms apply to chalkbell.com and to the Chalkbell service, including school websites and mobile apps. Chalkbell is a product of Vividsoft Tech Solution, Jodhpur, India ("Chalkbell", "we"). By using the service you agree to these terms. If a school or its authorised representative has signed an order or agreement with us, that document takes priority where it differs.
The service
Chalkbell provides software for running a school, a school website and a parent app in the school's name, in the packages and with the features agreed with each school. We may improve or change features over time, and will not knowingly remove a core feature a school has paid for without telling it first.
Schools and accounts
- The person who signs up a school confirms they have authority to act for it.
- Schools control who has access and are responsible for what their staff do in their account.
- Keep your login private and tell us or your school if you think it has been misused.
- Parents, students and staff use Chalkbell through their school, and the school's own rules also apply to them.
The school's data
Schools own the information they put into Chalkbell. Each school is responsible for its accuracy and for having the right to use it, including any consent required from parents or guardians. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.
Fair use
You must not:
- break the law, or send spam or unlawful messages through the service;
- access another school's or person's information without permission;
- try to break, overload, copy or reverse engineer the service.
Messages sent through Chalkbell must follow the rules of the channel used, such as WhatsApp's policies and India's SMS regulations. Monthly messaging and storage limits may apply.
Fees and payment
Prices are given to each school in its quote or invoice, and taxes such as GST are added where they apply. Plans are billed yearly unless agreed otherwise. If an invoice stays unpaid after a reminder, we may suspend access until it is paid. Fees that parents pay to a school are between the parent and the school; Chalkbell only provides the tools, and online payments are processed by the payment provider.
Sales partners
Schools may buy Chalkbell through an independent sales partner, who may set their own price. A partner cannot change these terms or make promises on our behalf unless we confirm them in writing.
Our content
Chalkbell's software, name and design belong to us. Schools keep their own names, logos and content, and let us use them to provide their website and app.
Availability
We work to keep Chalkbell running and backed up, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. Phone notifications, WhatsApp, SMS, maps and bus locations rely on other companies and on people's devices and networks, so delivery and accuracy can't be guaranteed. Do not rely on them alone for safety-critical or emergency communication.
Liability
The service is provided "as is", to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit or lost opportunity. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the school paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending the service
A school may stop using Chalkbell at the end of its paid period. We may suspend or end access for a serious breach of these terms or for non-payment. When a school leaves, it can ask for a copy of its data within 30 days, after which we may delete it, except what we must keep by law.
Changes
We may update these terms and will change the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell schools directly. Continuing to use the service means accepting the updated terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Jodhpur, Rajasthan have jurisdiction over any dispute, after we have first tried in good faith to resolve it together.
