Parent app

A parent app with your school's name on it.

Not "download our app and find your school". Parents install an app with your school's name and logo, and everything the school sends lands there.

Updated

What it is

Chalkbell gives each school its own Android app, published under the school's name and logo. Parents see their child's attendance, homework, notices, fee dues with online payment, receipts, results and report cards, and the live school bus location. They can message the class teacher and apply for leave. Parents with more than one child switch between them in the same app. Teachers and drivers use the same app with their own screens.

What you get

Your name and logo

The app on the Play Store is your school's app. Chalkbell stays in the background.

Notifications by default

Fee receipts, results, late arrival and fee reminders reach the parent's phone as notifications, without anyone pressing send.

Fees and online payment

Dues, receipts and a pay button. Payment goes to the school's own account.

Homework and notices

Teachers post homework; the office posts circulars. Parents see both in one place.

Messages and leave

Parents message the class teacher and apply for leave in the app, not on a teacher's personal WhatsApp.

Every child, one login

Parents with two or three children in the school switch between them in a tap.

How it works

  1. We build the app with your school's name, logo and colours.
  2. It is published on the Google Play Store.
  3. Parents sign in with the phone number the school has on record.
  4. The download link goes on your school website and in your circulars.

Who it's for

  • Schools whose teachers run class WhatsApp groups on personal numbers
  • Schools that want a professional app without building one
  • Principals who want circulars to actually be read
  • Parents with more than one child in the school

Questions schools ask

Will the app have our school's name and logo?

Yes. Each school gets its own Android app published on the Google Play Store under the school's name and logo.

What can parents see in the school app?

Attendance, homework, notices, fee dues and receipts with online payment, exam results and report cards, the live school bus location, and messages with the class teacher. Parents can also apply for leave.

Do teachers use the same app?

Yes. Teachers sign in to the same app and see their own screens for attendance, homework, marks entry, lesson plans and leave requests. Bus drivers have a screen too.

Is there an iPhone app?

The school app is published for Android first, which most parents in India use. Ask us about iPhone if your school needs it.

How do parents log in?

Parents sign in with the mobile number the school has on record for them. A parent with several children sees all of them under one login.
